Common Complaints
"Rebate is an empty promise: I bought tires through a dealer who said that Goodyear was offering a rebate. I submitted the rebate info online and on time. Goodyear rejected it. I have called multiple times but haven't received a resolution."
"Absolutely horrible customer service. I’ve been trying to contact them for hours to purchase cooper tires. I pressed two for cooper and get some nasty rep from good year. They then transfer you to somewhere to hear beeps and doesn’t go into anywhere."
"Goodyear Tires Warranty is Fake: I bought 4 Goodyear Assurance Outlast and after one year with very low Milage three of the tires are damaged and has outer walls cracked. One of the tire was completely flat with a large size crack while I was driving the car. I contacted Goodyear warranty department and they said to visit a local branch to get the tires inspected. Unfortunately they did not fulfil the warranty by saying that these tires are not damaged due to manufacturer defect and warranty will not cover."
"I took a brand new tire in to have it patched. The whole was near the center of the tire and they said it could not be repaired and I needed to buy a new tire for over $200 installed. I had no choice but to trust them. I had to insist on keeping my tire which needed to be repaired. I then took it to 7 other tire shops and they all said it was a very small hole and it could easily be patched without losing any tire integrity."
"Got an oil change at their store on Oregon Ave in Philadelphia, PA. Oil eventually leaked because the oil drain plug was properly tightened down. I wouldn’t trust Goodyear to check my tires air pressure. Don’t use this store!!!"
Common Questions About Goodyear
Answers derived from customer review patterns
Is Goodyear legit and trustworthy?
Based on the analyzed reviews, Goodyear's legitimacy is questionable due to numerous reports of deceptive practices, particularly regarding rebates and warranty claims. Many customers describe the rebate process as a 'bait and switch,' where they are lured in by advertised offers but ultimately denied the promised benefits. Furthermore, several reviewers claim that Goodyear fails to honor its tire warranties, leaving customers with defective products and no recourse. While some locations receive praise for good service, the prevalence of negative experiences raises concerns about Goodyear's overall trustworthiness.
Based on 45 reviewsDoes Goodyear have good customer service?
The analyzed reviews indicate that Goodyear's customer service is generally poor. Many customers report negative interactions with customer service representatives, citing rudeness, unhelpfulness, and a lack of resolution to their issues. Some reviewers even mention being hung up on or ignored when attempting to address problems. While a few customers praise the service at specific Goodyear locations, the overwhelming sentiment is that Goodyear's customer service is inadequate and frustrating.
Based on 30 reviewsIs Goodyear worth it for small business?
For small businesses, Goodyear presents a risky proposition. While the brand is well-known, the frequent complaints about rebates, warranties, and installation quality suggest that relying on Goodyear could lead to unexpected costs and time-consuming disputes. The inconsistent service across different locations further complicates the decision, as a positive experience is not guaranteed. Small business owners may find more reliable and transparent service from alternative tire and automotive service providers.
Based on 25 reviewsWhat is Goodyear's rebate policy like?
Goodyear's rebate policy is a major source of customer dissatisfaction. Many reviewers describe the process as misleading and difficult, with claims often being rejected despite meeting the advertised criteria. Some customers allege that Goodyear uses a 'secret list' of participating dealers that is not disclosed until after the purchase, leading to automatic denial of the rebate. The negative feedback suggests that Goodyear's rebate program is unreliable and should not be a primary factor in purchasing decisions.
Based on 15 reviewsWhy do customers complain about Goodyear's Truckforce?
Customers complain about Goodyear's Truckforce due to the reckless and disrespectful behavior of its drivers. Reviewers report instances of speeding, erratic driving, and verbal abuse directed towards other road users, including pregnant women. This behavior reflects poorly on Goodyear and suggests a lack of oversight and accountability within the Truckforce division. The negative experiences with Truckforce drivers contribute to the overall perception of Goodyear as a company that does not prioritize customer safety and respect.
